The versatile Trim TrioTM connector family from Souriau is a market leading interconnect system widely accepted for use in a diverse array of applications. Traditionally, the Trim Trio family has comprised of size 16 (.0625” dia pin) contacts. The size 16 contacts are rated at 13 Amps per contact and offer an excellent choice for relatively low power applications as well as applications requiring a mix of power and signal circuitry.

The standard size 16 contacts are available in either circular or rectangular connector types. These connectors are rated at 13 Amp / contact in a 2 position layout to 5 Amp / contact in a high-density 48 position layout. Additionally, any of the size 16 contact cavities can be populated with coaxial, twisted-pair, or Fiber Optic contacts to mix power and signal.
More recently, Souriau has introduced new circular connector layouts to address growing demand from the medium to high power applications. These new high power connectors utilize size 8 and size 12 contacts terminating AWG 8 – 12 conductors. In addition, there are size 16 cavities available for signal or lower power requirements.

The new high-power connectors are capable of carrying 26 – 132 Amp per connector, with individual contact rating of 26 – 44 Amp. In addition to higher current, they also meet the growing demand for higher working voltage, and are designed to meet the specific creepage and clearance requirements of VDE 0110C, resulting in working voltages of 380 – 660 V.
Souriau high power connectors have been designed with safety in mind, and are designed to meet the Accessibility of Live Parts requirement of UL 1977. To further ensure safe handling of the live or “hot” side, both the plug and receptacle connectors can accommodate either the male or female contacts.
Identified Grounding Circuits are offered on certain layouts to provide First-Make Last-Break (FMLB) contacts to ensure that the ground circuit has been established before any other contacts are made.

In summary, the Souriau power connectors empower the customer to better manage and integrate the installation by combining power and signal circuitry in a single connector. The safety features and expandability of these connectors allow the customer to maintain a common interconnection platform.
