Solar radiation affects all materials but plastics can be susceptible to extreme degradation over time. Different parts of the world are exposed to various amounts of solar radiation, and during long exposures to it, materials can suffer degradations in terms of physical properties.

SOURIAU - SUNBANK Connection Technologies has developed the UTS series with specific materials especially in order to withstand solar radiation thanks to their high UV resistance. It has been subjected to a number of tests according to the ISO 4892-2 which simulates conditions equivalent to five years of exposure to outdoor environments (temperature, humidity, etc.). After a long-term exposure to UV radiation, the UTS connectors show no significant colour variation, no crazing, no cracking and no major variation in their mechanical properties, even in the harshest conditions.
